What you will do

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, coordinate demand signals through MRP, and support make-versus-buy decisions.
• Lead the Materials Core Team and coordinate product development deliverables across buyers, planners, production control, and engineering.
• Create, release, and update materials strategies and execute commercialization and transition materials plans.
• Support sourcing, supplier selection, price and delivery negotiations, contract negotiations under supervision, and supplier risk assessments.
• Manage materials change control, cost objectives, quality issues, key process indicators, and total landed cost targets.
• Identify critical and long-lead parts, develop supplier and commodity road maps, perform value analysis, and resolve supplier quality issues with engineering and quality teams.

Requirements

• Depth and/or breadth of expertise in the relevant specialized discipline or field.
• Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
• Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
• Ability to lead others in solving complex problems using sophisticated analytical thinking, judgment, and innovative solutions.
• Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view.
