Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
PITA Build Engineer (Nuclear): Developing and executing work packages for the construction, integration, testing, activation, and rework of reactor systems with an accent on translating engineering requirements into executable field activities and maintaining configuration traceability. Focus on hands-on assembly, AI-assisted work-instruction improvement, resolving complex manufacturing non-conformances, and coordinating production, quality, engineering, and operations.
Location: Onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States; travel to KP-TN facilities may be required, up to 20%.
Company
hirify.global develops fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor technology intended to support clean-energy generation with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation.
What you will do
Develop, execute, and continuously improve work instructions and travelers for reactor construction, integration, testing, activation, rework, and related activities.
Translate drawings, bills of material, specifications, engineering requirements, safety controls, quality requirements, tolerances, acceptance criteria, tooling, and prerequisites into executable work packages.
Establish Clear to Build readiness by identifying missing people, parts, plans, processes, tooling, approvals, engineering inputs, and other prerequisites.
Work alongside technicians during field execution, perform hands-on activities such as tube bending, swaging, panel buildouts, and electrical terminations, and conduct field walk-downs.
Use approved AI-assisted retrieval, review, and multimodal documentation to identify missing requirements, capture observations, improve work instructions, and develop lightweight workflow tools.
Maintain configuration traceability, resolve build and construction non-conformances, support change and risk management, track schedules, and communicate production status and risks across engineering, operations, project, and quality teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, or another relevant engineering discipline.
6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, assembly, integration, commissioning, testing, maintenance, field engineering, or hands-on technical projects, including translating technical requirements into executable work packages and supporting hands-on field activities.
Experience translating technical definitions into executable work and practical hands-on skills; these are more important than a specific industry background.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, procedures, and technical requirements.
Experience with CAD software and the ability to review engineering models and drawings.
Technical writing, structured problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, including documenting plans, tracking changes, and communicating across engineering, operations, and leadership.
Experience working directly with technicians and trades in a field environment; comfort alternating between detailed desk work and hands-on field presence.
Knowledge of safety, quality, and procedural controls for work-package preparation and field execution; ability to identify RFIs, distinguish assumptions from facts, and manage incomplete information.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, collect and transfer knowledge, identify process complexity, and recommend practical improvements.
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems, production-planning tools, procedure-writing software such as JobBOSS, Epsilon3, Infor, or ESOMS, and production-data analysis.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous-improvement methods; risk assessment and mitigation for manufacturing and system integration; and Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles.
Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of industrial and prototype facilities, including climbing, working in confined spaces and at heights, using hand tools and machinery, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Ability to obtain forklift and boom-lift certification.
Ability to work occasional weekends, flexible or extended hours, and seldom non-standard work-week hours to support launch and critical project timelines.
Authorization to access Department of Energy Part 810-controlled information is required; eligibility may depend on citizenship and applicable export-control licensing.
Nice to have
AI proficiency or demonstrated ability and motivation to become proficient rapidly.
