Senior Quality Engineer (Nuclear Energy)

Location: Onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. The role includes travel to hirify.global Power sites of up to 25% and occasional overtime, weekend work, schedule flexibility, non-standard hours, and extended hours during launches and critical project timelines.

What you will do

• Lead quality assurance assessments of hardware design, testing, component manufacturing, construction, and operational processes.
• Partner with design, testing, manufacturing, construction, and operations teams to develop quality plans, procedures, and delivery processes.
• Translate assessment findings into actionable corrective and preventive actions supported by causal analysis.
• Communicate compliance, process effectiveness, and hardware quality outcomes to technical teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Mentor Quality Engineers and improve the quality management system using assessment results, nonconformances, and operating experience.
• Support hardware fabrication, assembly, testing, commissioning, and operation, including work in manufacturing and test facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or another technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of quality assurance experience in engineering industries with robust safety and reliability requirements.
• At least 8 years of experience using ISO-based management standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 17025, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 29001, API Q1, or API Q2.
• Experience implementing and managing quality management systems, writing procedures and guidance, providing training, and leading continuous improvement programs.
• Experience planning, conducting, documenting, and reporting engineering quality assessments or audits, including design control, configuration management, inspections, testing, records management, and supplier quality oversight.
• Work requires onsite presence in Albuquerque, New Mexico, work in industrial and test environments, physical activity, and use of required personal protective equipment.
