Senior Financial Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Base salary: CAD $90,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze quarterly financial performance drivers and prepare accurate submissions, dashboards, pipeline information, and performance reports for senior stakeholders.
• Build relationships with client markets, reporting and controlling, actuarial, and pricing functions to explain financial results.
• Support new business projections, business-plan development, ledger closing, and financial reporting for the Latin American portfolio.
• Support IFRS 17 performance-reporting changes and ensure consistent valuation against business plans and costing.
• Provide financial insights for commercial decisions, strategic discussions, transactions, and other business priorities.
• Answer ad-hoc requests, present analyses to management, and connect Finance Americas with the BU Life & Health team.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in insurance.
• Good knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance business and its performance drivers.
• Background including mathematics, financial modelling, actuarial sciences, and finance.
• Strong understanding of multi-valuation concepts, particularly IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
• Outstanding analytical skills, commercial approach, curiosity, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize and deliver within time constraints.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across all organizational levels.
