Staff Software Engineer (Remote)

Annual salary: $135,000–$190,000 USD

What you will do

• Enhance core offerings and maintain high-value core system components for real-time marketplace systems at scale.
• Build and maintain scalable, cloud-native APIs and application components using multiple technology stacks.
• Lead technical discussions on software architecture, testing, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, product leaders, and platform teams.
• Apply telemetry, performance tuning, and AI development tools to improve engineering speed, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building scalable, cloud-native APIs with .NET, preferably .NET Core, Java, or Kotlin.
• University degree or advanced diploma in a software engineering-related discipline, preferably Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• Experience with telemetry and performance tuning using modern APM tooling.
• Strong understanding of application development, development methodologies, and testing methodologies.
• Active use of AI development tools such as code copilots, AI debuggers, and test generators.
• Curiosity about applying AI to real customer and business problems and the ability to critically evaluate AI outputs.
• Product-minded, ownership-driven, technically curious, and quality-focused approach to software engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern APM tooling.
• Experience with Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with Svelte front-end frameworks.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
