Staff Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $198,200–$297,400 USD annually for Zone 1 US locations; $185,300–$277,900 USD annually for other US locations. International compensation varies by location.

What you will do

• Own the architectural vision for complex cross-functional domains and scalable systems.
• Lead delivery of high-complexity systems and foundational abstractions from design through production launch.
• Design and implement cloud-native patterns using Docker and Kubernetes for high-throughput distributed systems.
• Identify technical debt and lead initiatives that improve shared engineering foundations.
• Establish engineering best practices, mentor senior engineers, and contribute to interview processes.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to translate business goals into technical solutions.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States for this remote position.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge of C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and Web APIs.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and Saga, CQRS, and Event Sourcing patterns.
• Proficiency with Git, SQL Server, performance profiling, data analysis, and advanced debugging tools.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or AI services into production applications.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
