Senior Software Engineer, Backend (AI)

Location: Hybrid role with in-office time expected in San Francisco, New York City, Sunnyvale, or Seattle

Salary: $159,800–$235,000 USD base salary annually, plus potential equity grants

hirify.global is building an on-demand logistics engine and a three-sided marketplace connecting consumers, merchants, and delivery workers.

What you will do

• Develop, release, and operate large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and technology stacks for product areas.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security across backend systems.
• Help transition a monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, evaluate technical trade-offs, and own projects end to end.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while solving complex logistics infrastructure problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience and prior experience with backend technology stacks.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Understanding of modern web technologies and architecture, including HTTP and REST.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, or RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor across design, coding, testing, monitoring, and release workflows.
