Sr Software Development Engineer - On-Highway Vehicles (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 plus bonus

hirify.global Industrial Division supplies components and integrated subsystems for on- and off-highway vehicles, including trucks, buses, construction and agricultural vehicles, and electric and hybrid vehicles.

What you will do

• Design, develop, perform, and document software test plans for safety-critical embedded code.
• Develop, execute, and document system test cases.
• Prepare documentation according to APQP and ASPICE standards.
• Work with hardware and software engineers on quotes and new products.
• Interface with customers and contribute to embedded product development.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree.
• At least 4–5 years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, debugger usage, and emulation tools.
• Ability to develop embedded solutions for quick prototyping, concept demonstrations, and production-quality customer products.
• Experience in automotive embedded software and CAN bus.
• Experience with automotive cybersecurity according to ISO 21434 and functional safety according to ISO 26262.
• Experience implementing UDS and hands-on experience with CAN Analyzer.
• Ability to learn technical subjects quickly, multitask, and communicate effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with IBM ELM, including DOORS.
