Engineer – Software (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States; on-site role with occasional off-site travel to support engineering projects.

Pay range: $68,600.00–$109,200.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and document real-time embedded vehicle-control software in C/C++ and Matlab autogenerated code.
• Develop software for embedded platforms controlling vehicle systems through network messaging and directly connected inputs and outputs.
• Design software to meet functionality, memory utilization, performance, and maintainability requirements.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production software, including technical assistance to supervisors, engineers, and other departments.
• Participate in peer reviews, project estimation, technical proposals, decision analysis, and UML software design activities.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and business disciplines and external suppliers while following CMMI level 3, version control, change control, and issue-tracking practices.

Requirements

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with internship experience or at least six months of related work experience.
• Ability to write high-quality, maintainable embedded C/C++ software.
• Ability to read and create software designs in UML.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical instructions, procedures, reports, and correspondence, and communicate effectively with internal and external groups.
• Ability to analyze information, make decisions within standard policies and procedures, perform engineering calculations, and solve structured technical problems.
• Ability to follow CMMI level 3 software-development procedures and use version control, change control, and issue-tracking software.
• Regular attendance and ability to work routine shift hours, with occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift rotation.
• Ability to meet the listed physical and environmental demands, including frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, typing, analysis, communication, reading, and writing.

Nice to have

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, JSON, Python, and SQL databases in addition to embedded C/C++.
