Location: Hybrid in London (Remote on Mondays and Fridays, in-office Tuesday-Thursday)

What you will do

• Define credit policy and underwriting strategy for second charge mortgages, including affordability and eligibility frameworks.
• Develop and refine risk scoring, pricing models, and risk segmentation to balance volume with portfolio quality.
• Design automated decisioning logic and executable rules to be embedded into the platform.
• Collaborate with the Capital Markets team to inform investor parameters, LTV limits, and funding strategies.
• Monitor portfolio performance and report early indicators to senior stakeholders.
• Partner with product, engineering, legal, and compliance to ensure regulatory alignment with MCOB and Consumer Duty.

Requirements

• Deep experience in secured lending credit risk, specifically with second charge mortgages, bridging, or BTL.
• Proven track record of building risk scoring and pricing frameworks in a secured lending environment.
• Strong analytical skills with SQL required (Python is a plus).
• Working knowledge of MCOB and FCA requirements for second charge lending.
• Ability to structure underwriting policy as programmatic decision logic for scale and automation.
• Must be based in or able to work in London for hybrid office attendance.

• Experience with loan servicing, collections, arrears management, and recoveries.
• Exposure to broker distribution models and intermediary channels.
• Background working in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Experience with decisioning platforms or rules engines.
