Security Engineer I (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $72,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Administer cyber security services across laptops, servers, email, networks, and cloud platforms.
• Perform security tests and audits, analyze findings, and recommend improvements aligned with information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Use vulnerability management tools to triage vulnerabilities and work with SOC analysts and SIEM systems on reporting and alerting.
• Investigate and report security violations, assess potential damage, and implement corrective actions.
• Handle security incidents according to predefined criteria and triggers.
• Support eDiscovery, forensic investigations, privacy audits, sensitive-data leak prevention, reporting, and watch-list generation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of applicable work experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods and perform sedentary work.
• Ability to adapt, change priorities quickly, meet deadlines, operate computer programs and software, and make independent decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences in person and electronically.
• Ability to work collaboratively with peers and interact with coworkers and/or the public despite interruptions.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of network protocols, topologies, and security concepts.
• Proficiency with SIEM systems and incident triage.
• Understanding of incident response, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
• On-the-job experience or an internship in cybersecurity, network administration, disaster recovery, or digital forensics.
• 0–12 months of cybersecurity experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
