Information Systems Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

Location: 100% remote, but candidates must reside in the continental United States. Standard business hours align with the Eastern Time Zone. Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead Risk Management Framework activities for IATT and ATO authorization of on-premises and cloud systems.
• Apply NIST SP 800-53 controls and support the preparation and review of RMF documentation and risk assessment packages.
• Design and execute security testing plans, vulnerability scans, and security posture assessments across applications, APIs, databases, containers, and infrastructure.
• Perform monthly continuous monitoring, analyze scans and logs, and prepare cybersecurity status reports.
• Coordinate with DHS customers, engineering teams, and program stakeholders to define requirements, track remediation, and complete security work.
• Support contingency planning, incident response, disaster recovery, training, and tabletop exercises.

Requirements

• Must reside in the continental United States and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
• United States citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
• 5+ years of professional cybersecurity experience and a bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
• Cybersecurity certification and professional experience with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, API security, OWASP, AWS, STIGs, SRGs, and CSAM.
• Experience with CSPM, vulnerability management, security scanning, PKI, cloud architecture, containers, microservices, and DevSecOps tools and practices.
• Experience assessing control deficiencies, tracking corrective actions, documenting security solutions, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• AWS-related certification.
• Experience with AWS Security Hub, AWS Config, AWS Trusted Advisor, Amazon GuardDuty, Tenable, Nessus, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Nexus IQ, Prisma Cloud Compute, Jira, Confluence, or Splunk.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning or ETL data pipelines.
