IT Systems Administrator I (Defense & Security)

Location: Arlington, TX, United States; full-time work in an office and plant environment, often in secure closed areas. Domestic and international travel up to 50% of the year may be required. Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

What you will do

• Build, document, maintain, and deploy mixed Windows and Linux closed-room infrastructures.
• Set up and manage software development environments for advanced simulation devices.
• Support engineers and troubleshoot infrastructure, hardware, operating systems, and applications.
• Create, test, update, and execute automated and semi-automated system configuration procedures for in-house and customer sites.
• Monitor infrastructure services to ensure reliability and availability, and answer technical questions.
• Perform event, audit, and syslog analysis while supporting security and data-handling procedures.

Requirements

• BS/BA in engineering, computer science, or information technology, or equivalent work experience, with typically less than 3 years of related experience.
• Linux and Windows system administration experience.
• Knowledge of hardware and familiarity with command-line tools.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience with managed switch and router setup.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Csh, Python, and PowerShell.
• Advanced problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills for interaction with peers, project vendors, and other teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment and access rack-mounted hardware when required.

Nice to have

• Strong Windows Server setup and administration skills.
• Windows/Linux integration experience, including file sharing and authentication.
• Domain Controller setup and management, including Group Policy Objects.
• Storage systems experience with NAS, SAN, NFS, or similar technologies.
• Cisco and/or HP networking configuration experience.
• Custom automated operating system deployment experience, such as Windows Deployment Toolkit.
• Configuration management, centralized auditing, and centralized patching experience, such as WSUS.
• System hardening experience, including implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides.
• Experience with vulnerability scanners such as ACAS, Nessus, and SCAP.
• Experience with version control tools such as ClearCase, Git, or Bitbucket.
• Security+ or CISSP certification.
