Senior WHS Consultant

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients. Candidates must have appropriate approval to work in Australia.

What you will do

• Deliver WHS consulting services, including advisory support, site and system assessments, risk assessments, audits, management system reviews, training, and improvement advice.
• Translate client needs and WHS findings into clear, prioritised recommendations and practical next steps.
• Lead allocated work packages and projects, including scoping, planning, progress tracking, dependency management, and delivery reporting.
• Coordinate consultants and technical contributors, delegate work, and review outputs to maintain quality.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and internal partners through clear communication and reliable delivery.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, research, service improvement, business development, and capability development activities while coaching junior consultants.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in WHS advisory or a related consulting role.
• Well-developed knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management principles, and current WHS issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills, with attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice to have

• Experience leading WHS projects or workstreams in a client-facing environment.
• Capability in mentoring or coaching less experienced colleagues.
• Experience contributing to proposals, business development, or service development activities.
