Product Manager Firmware Authentication RFID Readers (RFID)

Location: Wiesbaden, Germany. Applicants must be currently and legally authorized to reside and work in Germany; international relocation and remote work outside Germany are not considered.

What you will do

• Manage the firmware roadmap for five RFID reader platforms and multiple product families.
• Define firmware strategy, prioritize requirements, Epics, and features, and update plans through LPM and PI Planning processes using SAFe practices.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Owners, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Pre-Sales, and Support to deliver firmware features and integrated solutions.
• Negotiate with suppliers, partners, and competitors on credential technologies and lead their integration into hirify.global OMNIKEY platforms.
• Drive reuse and economies of scale across code, implementations, technologies, and platforms, including reuse across hirify.global IDT and PACS portfolios.
• Support customers and Sales through specifications, recommendations, white papers, customer visits, competition analysis, and executive-level relationships.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner delivering and deploying software, firmware, hardware products, or solutions to factory.
• Experience with firmware and embedded software, either as a Product Manager or engineer.
• Ability to lead R&D professionals through the product development and introduction cycle.
• Ability to understand complex technical situations, identify missing information, gather it independently, and divide problems into subtasks for R&D, Sales, Support, Production, and Product Management.
• Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, adaptability, customer communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team, identifying and completing or delegating tasks beyond the formal task description.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Current legal authorization to reside and work in Germany without immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with RFID technology, access control, and authentication.
• Knowledge of smart card readers, embedded systems, cryptography, and security practices.
• Knowledge and experience with Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Lean, DevOps, or other agile methodologies.
• SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering with a software or firmware background, or a related field; equivalent education and hands-on experience may be considered.
