Staff Product Designer, Community

Location: Brooklyn, New York, US; hybrid for candidates within commutable distance of the Brooklyn office, with office attendance once or twice per week depending on proximity. Remote candidates outside the commutable distance may be considered case by case, with occasional travel to the office expected.

Salary: USD 187,000–253,000 annual in Geo-1 and USD 168,000–228,000 annual in Geo-2, depending on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design buyer-facing experiences across discovery, exploration, evaluation, checkout, and post-purchase.
• Set visual and interaction design standards and resolve complex interaction challenges.
• Lead workshops, design sprints, concept explorations, and prototype development to shape product strategy.
• Audit and evolve the design system to support scalability, consistency, accessibility, and quality.
• Partner with product, engineering, research, analytics, and marketing to build experiments, interpret results, and iterate.
• Influence design direction and organizational priorities by communicating rationale, trade-offs, and system value.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional product design experience with deep expertise designing native mobile experiences.
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills, demonstrated through a portfolio with high-quality UI, end-to-end flows, system thinking, and scalable solutions.
• Experience designing complex, high-traffic consumer experiences in discovery, commerce, or marketplace domains.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers to ensure high-quality execution.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse collaborators.
• A strategic and proactive mindset, including comfort with ambiguity, independent initiative, and the ability to create clarity.
• Ability to define vision and strategy, set long-term goals, and deliver near-term solutions.
• Ability to apply listening, negotiating, and decision-making skills.

• Experience exploring new interaction patterns, motion, storytelling, and generative AI technologies.
