Staff Product Designer, Risk

Location: Remote in the United States; regular work from home is expected, with occasional office meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events. Stripe does not cover relocation to a remote location.

Annual US base salary: $228,300–$342,500, plus potential equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Shape the future of Risk across core user journeys and new product surfaces.
• Design onboarding, compliance, account health, and risk-management experiences with clarity and control.
• Explore, shape, and prototype new products, including configurable and API-first risk capabilities.
• Define near-term improvements and long-term opportunities with product, engineering, policy, operations, and research partners.
• Lead complex cross-functional design problems and influence product strategy through product thinking, storytelling, and design judgment.
• Establish scalable patterns and visual standards for risk and compliance experiences across Stripe.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience designing products.
• Portfolio demonstrating excellent craft, systems thinking, end-to-end design, and strong understanding of AI tools.
• Experience leading complex product work with product management and engineering.
• Experience shaping ambiguous problem spaces and driving clarity through design.
• Track record of influencing cross-functional teams and product direction.
• Must be located in the United States for the remote role.

• Ability to turn complex policies, systems, and edge cases into clear product experiences.
• Strong storytelling and ability to align partners around a clear point of view.
• Experience building trust through design in high-stakes or sensitive user moments.
