Lead Product Designer (AI)

Salary: $109,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Own end-to-end design for Mobilize, from problem framing through launch and iteration.
• Shape design direction, shared patterns, and quality standards across the NGP VAN product suite.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to influence roadmap and product strategy decisions.
• Translate complex problems into scalable solutions for legacy product interfaces and AI functionality.
• Lead research and usability testing, applying evidence to product decisions.
• Mentor designers and contribute to design systems, interaction quality, visual craft, and accessibility.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-surface products.
• Experience designing AI functionality and working with AI pattern libraries.
• Strong interaction design, visual design, research, stakeholder communication, and product strategy skills.
• Experience creating and contributing to scalable design systems and components.
• Commitment to inclusive design, WCAG accessibility, and ethical AI use.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; current or future employment sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with front-end principles including HTML and CSS.
• Experience mentoring designers through critique and feedback.
