Design Operations Lead

Location: London, hybrid with 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Drive and facilitate sprint planning, milestone reviews, retrospectives, design critiques, and other planning and collaboration cadences.
• Identify and implement workflow, process, automation, documentation, and tooling improvements that increase visibility and reduce friction.
• Partner with design leads on timelines, milestone plans, delivery checkpoints, accountability, and decision-making.
• Own and evolve project-tracking systems including JIRA and Figma, keeping them current and aligned with team needs.
• Maintain briefs, documentation, review records, and operational resources, and structure design handoffs and stakeholder reviews.
• Support continuous improvement through feedback loops, retrospective facilitation, and structured iteration on processes and ways of working.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in design operations, UX, project or programme management, business, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in design operations, UX programme coordination, project management, or a related role.
• Experience supporting a design, research, product, or similarly collaborative team in a complex organisation.
• Experience improving workflows, planning cadences, documentation, or operational systems.
• Experience working with Figma, JIRA, and ClaudeCode.
• Strong communication, collaboration, planning, facilitation, and project coordination skills, including the ability to work across teams and levels of seniority.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
• Ability to analyse how work gets done, identify friction, and turn improvements into practical, repeatable ways of working.
• Confidence learning and managing tools, systems, and documentation practices that support design teams.
