Field Claims Representative

Location: Knoxville, TN; hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training, based on job responsibilities and leadership approval. Field work and on-site investigations are required. Must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

What you will do

• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to apply coverage accurately.
• Work toward claim resolution and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
• Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on site while providing service to agents, insureds, and other parties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least 3 years of experience handling multi-line property and casualty claims, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues, organize and interpret data, and handle multiple assignments.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
• Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry, sums, unit costs, and personal and business finance documents.
• Ability to drive an automobile, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a driving record consistent with the company’s underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
