MaTechnical Project Lead (PTA) - Onsite Farnborough

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire, United Kingdom. Full-time, onsite. Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including applicable residency and, where required, nationality requirements.

What you will do

• Define and guide technical solutions from requirements through delivery and customer acceptance.
• Break down complex technical scope into work packages for Agile delivery teams and maintain engineering plans and technical backlogs.
• Work with Project Managers, Product Design Authorities, Software, Systems and Operational SMEs to define requirements, acceptance criteria and priorities.
• Ensure solutions align with product strategy and architectural direction, supporting design reviews, technical decisions and risk management.
• Provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle, monitor progress, and communicate risks, issues and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Support customer engagement and ensure verification and validation activities are completed for qualification and acceptance.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical activities across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Strong requirements gathering and analysis skills, including translating customer needs into detailed system and software requirements.
• Ability to estimate work, identify risks and manage technical dependencies.
• Experience in both Functional and Object-Oriented design.
• Strong review and assurance skills, including design reviews, code reviews and technical walkthroughs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Eligibility to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including applicable residency requirements, and the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Software development experience in regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Experience with Software Safety and Security Standards or Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Articles.
• C/C++ development on Linux platforms.
• Experience with system architecture, multi-threading, memory management and inter-process communication.
• Experience with service-oriented or distributed systems and Geospatial Information Systems.
• Experience in defence, aerospace or mission-critical engineering environments.
• Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, DOORS, HP ALM, Rational ClearCase or Rational ClearQuest.
