Depot Manager (Logistics)

Location: Loughborough, United Kingdom. Onsite, full-time. Working days are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 16:00 to 01:00, with a 1-hour break.

What you will do

• Oversee hub operations, including receiving, sorting, dispatching, and delivery, while meeting OTIFIQ and route productivity targets.
• Manage driver rotas, coverage, shift handovers, route reviews, and driver assessments.
• Lead vehicle and equipment checks and coordinate vehicle movements to garages for maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
• Act as the escalation point for delivery issues and collaborate with wider operations teams to resolve them and maintain customer experience.
• Lead and coach drivers and hub staff, support driver training and onboarding, and build an inclusive, performance-focused team culture.
• Complete daily compliance activities, manage incident reporting and investigations, maintain audit records, and uphold health, safety, and food-handling standards.

Requirements

• Experience in logistics, depot, or delivery operations, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
• Strong experience managing a team and a people-focused leadership approach.
• Strong understanding of driver operations, vehicle checks, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and coach teams with a hands-on leadership style.
• Organised and detail-oriented, with confidence using systems to track stock, compliance, and performance.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to identify risks early and take action.
• Comfort working evening and night shifts and leading live operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence.
