Transport Team Manager

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom; based at the Dearne Valley Pallet warehouse

Salary: £18.45 per hour

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and support drivers and transport coordinators across the shift.
• Manage daily transport operations and monitor performance against service plans.
• Oversee O Licence requirements, road transport legislation, driver hours, tachograph compliance, and vehicle defect reporting.
• Conduct floor and yard walks, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
• Manage payroll accuracy, return-to-work interviews, performance records, and training updates.
• Monitor fleet safety, resource utilisation, and operational costs.

Requirements

• Experience leading and coaching people with a fair and approachable management style.
• Background in transport operations and knowledge of road transport legislation, compliance, and driver safety rules.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, organisation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and health and safety awareness.
• Full driving licence.
