Compliance, Environmental & Reporting Lead

What you will do

• Collect, validate, archive, and submit accurate data for statutory packaging, waste, environmental, and sustainability reporting obligations.
• Coordinate environmental reporting for ESOS and SECR, including data collection from internal and external sources.
• Manage waste and packaging reporting covering EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax, and WEEE, including product inspections, packaging data sheets, purchase data, and sales data.
• Ensure compliance with EU Deforestation Regulations, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, the EU Green Claims Directive, and Directive 2024/825.
• Monitor emerging legislation, advise management and leadership on financial and operational impacts, and lead change-management activities for business readiness.
• Engage suppliers, Procurement, Publishing, Sales, customers, and external partners to gather technical product and packaging information and support data requests.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards for sustainability reporting.
• Ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies and track progress toward goals.
• Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, collaborative, and empathetic skills, with the ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, initiative-driven approach to continuous improvement and the ability to lead improvement activities.
• Adaptability and flexibility when supporting changing business needs while balancing control and change.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a changing and flexible workload.
