Platform Engineering Team Leader

Location: Israel - Raanana; hybrid work with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote each week.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Platform Engineering vision, strategy, roadmap, standards, governance models, and engineering best practices.
• Build, lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary organization of DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineers.
• Own AWS cloud infrastructure strategy and lead modernization across Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, self-service platforms, scalability, resilience, security, and cost optimization.
• Own enterprise CI/CD platforms, deployment workflows, release engineering, platform tooling, templates, reusable services, and developer self-service capabilities.
• Lead reliability, incident response, root-cause analysis, operational readiness, observability, risk management, technical debt reduction, and production excellence.
• Partner with R&D, Product Management, Security, Operations, Architecture, Database Reliability Engineering, and data platform teams to deliver secure, compliant, scalable, and observable platform services.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or Software Engineering.
• Experience leading large-scale cloud-native SaaS environments.
• Strong AWS expertise and a strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and distributed systems.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, CDK, CloudFormation, or Helm.
• Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or ArgoCD.
• Strong understanding of observability platforms, reliability engineering, and production operations.
• Experience driving cross-functional initiatives across multiple organizations, with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
