Engineering Team Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, with offices at 34 HaMasger Street in Tel Aviv.

What you will do

• Lead the engineering effort for FirstRead, an AI-powered radiology report-generation product, with end-to-end ownership of the product outcome.
• Direct work across backend, frontend, AI infrastructure, DICOM pipelines, existing platform services, and new components.
• Translate changing product needs and incomplete information into technical direction, priorities, architecture decisions, and executable plans.
• Collaborate with Product, AI teams, TLs, and engineers across Imaging Platform to deliver working software and contribute to shared services.
• Build the FirstRead engineering team, establish its culture and ways of working, develop engineers, and shape its long-term mission.
• Maintain engineering standards while balancing experimentation and delivery speed with reliability, maintainability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Senior hands-on software engineering experience, including building complex systems end-to-end.
• Exceptional experience leading engineering teams while remaining actively involved in technical and architectural decisions.
• Strong sense of urgency and the ability to drive execution and maintain momentum in fast-paced, high-priority projects.
• Experience leading projects in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments where requirements and technical direction are not fully defined upfront.
• Broad technical experience and willingness to work across different areas of the stack rather than specializing exclusively in one domain.
• Strong system design and software engineering fundamentals, including experience designing and building distributed production systems.
• Ability to own an outcome from early concept through implementation, production, and continued evolution.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including working across engineering teams and organizational boundaries.
• Strong product and business orientation, leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with shared platforms and multiple engineering teams contributing to the same product.
• Experience across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, or AI/ML systems.
• Experience with AI-powered products or production AI systems.
