DevOps Team Leader (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers working with multiple R&D and product teams in a matrix organization.
• Coordinate DevOps capacity, priorities, technical direction, and delivery planning with R&D leaders, product managers, architects, and the Cloud Platform team.
• Bring infrastructure, deployment, security, cost, non-functional requirements, and production readiness into feature development from the design stage.
• Maintain shared standards for infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, observability, alerting, and runbooks.
• Lead the team's 24/7 on-call participation, incident response, blameless post-mortems, escalations, and knowledge sharing.
• Define and track KPIs for delivery predictability, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction, while improving delivery through automation and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of DevOps experience, including at least 2 years managing engineers.
• Proven experience leading in a matrix organization, with engineers working day to day with other teams or reporting to other leads.
• Experience delivering features alongside product and R&D teams in an agile environment, with strong stakeholder management and conflict-resolution skills.
• Hands-on experience with on-call and incident management for production SaaS systems, ideally including incident-response leadership.
• Production expertise with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform.
• Strong experience with CI/CD using Jenkins or an equivalent, GitOps using ArgoCD, Helm, and Docker.
• Solid cloud networking, security, and IAM fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Scripting experience in Python and/or Bash, plus excellent communication skills for working with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Software development background or experience working closely with application code.
• Experience with platform engineering concepts and internal developer platforms.
• Familiarity with FinOps and designing features with cost in mind.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted and agentic development tools such as Cursor or Claude.
• Experience in a global company working across time zones.
