Senior EHS Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: McMinnville, Tennessee / Rock Island, TN; onsite role with up to 10% travel, primarily to a single site. Work may require responding to EHS needs across shifts or outside normal business hours.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of site EHS programs, procedures, inspections, JSAs, training materials, and documentation.
• Lead incident, near-miss, first-aid, and hazard investigations using root cause methodology; classify serious injury and fatality potential events and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan and conduct safety walkthroughs, program audits, regulatory self-assessments, and compliance inspections, and verify corrective actions are effective.
• Maintain EHS records, permits, environmental compliance documentation, regulatory reporting, corrective-action tracking, and performance data.
• Develop and deliver training covering new-hire orientation, LOTO, PPE, hazard communication, emergency response, forklift/PIT, machine guarding, hot work, confined space, and other applicable programs.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources, occupational health, quality, contractors, supervisors, managers, and regional EHS resources on risk reduction, employee health, emergency preparedness, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered where appropriate.
• 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, fabrication, foundry, heavy industrial, or multi-hazard operational environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, training, audits, CAPA management, and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations and recognized industrial risk-control practices.
• Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, data analysis, documentation, and cross-functional influencing skills.
• Ability to work in active manufacturing environments and respond to EHS needs across shifts or outside normal business hours as required.
• Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods, climb ladders, and wear PPE including respirators, with exposure to noise, heat, and indoor/outdoor industrial equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, primarily to a single site.
• Must be currently authorized to work full time in the applicable country without current or future employer-sponsored immigration support.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, CIH, OHST, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
