HR AI Solutions and Governance Lead

Location: Herndon Area, Virginia, United States; hybrid arrangement with 60% onsite and 40% remote work. Employment in the United States requires current work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year, with possible geographic differentials and performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Design and implement complex HR agent workflows for policy retrieval using RAG, onboarding triage, automated compliance reporting, and other HR processes.
• Lead AI automation initiatives across North American HR functions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop prompt architectures and orchestrate tool-calling integrations with Workday and applicant tracking systems.
• Audit AI models for bias and ensure compliance with EEOC guidelines, the EU AI Act, data privacy requirements, and ethical AI standards.
• Define model governance guardrails and establish monitoring, validation, and lifecycle frameworks for HR AI solutions and agentic decision workflows.
• Secure data foundations for compliance operations through data tagging, data catalogues, line-of-sight auditing, and data governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, another quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of industry experience and education.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in a technical role, preferably in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in statistical analysis and classical machine learning.
• At least 2 years of experience in model governance, AI ethics, and data privacy.
• At least 2 years of Generative AI development experience, including agentic workflow design and prompt engineering.
• Experience with GCP or AWS AI, machine learning, and data engineering services, including technologies such as Vertex AI, AutoML, AI Infrastructure, S3, Data Factory, and BigQuery.
• Expertise in end-to-end AI/ML solution design, from concept through deployment and governance.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, and Scikit-learn.
• Experience applying AI governance principles in a corporate environment, understanding of GDPR and ethical AI frameworks, and ability to communicate complex technical and governance concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, communication, presentation, and time management skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ETL processes and data engineering tools such as PySpark, Airflow, and Databricks.
