Staff Software Engineer, AI Solutions

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $124,300–$198,600 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize AI-powered solutions within ServiceNow and through external custom integrations.
• Create custom MCP tooling and agentic solutions, and orchestrate third-party LLMs such as OpenAI and Google Gemini.
• Identify AI adoption opportunities with stakeholders and deliver intelligent automation and improved user experiences.
• Develop and manage secure, scalable integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications, including APIs, scripting, and framework deployment.
• Troubleshoot ServiceNow configurations and AI components, identify requirement gaps, and provide architecture options with clear trade-offs.
• Produce technical design documentation, estimate implementation work, and communicate progress in project meetings and daily scrums.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, PhD-level education with no experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered solutions, generative AI applications, agents, or conversational applications.
• Strong Python skills and experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of APIs, web services, relational databases, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS, REST, SOAP, and HTML.
• Experience designing agentic systems, implementing agent capabilities, evaluating multi-agent behavior, and applying responsible AI and safety practices.
• Strong ServiceNow development experience, including UI Policies, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Business Rules, Mid Server architecture, Import Sets, Transform Maps, Update Sets, CMDB, ITSM, and ITOM.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Familiarity with MCP servers or comparable model-serving platforms.
• ServiceNow CSA, CIS, or CAD certification.
• Experience mentoring developers, documenting systems for global teams, and collaborating across time zones and cultures.
