Fullstack AI Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston or San Francisco, United States; hybrid work from a flex office 2–3 times per week is preferred, with flexibility for the right candidate.

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

AllSpice develops an automation and collaboration platform for hardware engineers, including AI-powered design review tools for smart vehicles, robotics, rockets, IoT, and medical devices.

What you will do

• Partner with engineers and product managers to identify workflow bottlenecks, prioritize high-impact problems, and own solutions from requirements and architecture through rollout and iteration.
• Build an internal evaluation workspace for the DRCY AI design review product, capturing configurations, inputs, outputs, telemetry, model and prompt comparisons, quality, false positives, cost, and latency.
• Develop review workflows and internal applications for inspecting AI-generated findings, applying scoring rubrics, overriding automated scores, investigating regressions, and collecting feedback.
• Create data pipelines, schemas, scripts, automations, and integrations connecting internal systems, third-party services, LLMs, MCP tools, customer feedback, and telemetry.
• Build RAG-based information repositories, integrate AI insights into GitHub Actions and engineering workflows, and support customer-facing AI experiences where useful.
• Document findings, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and promote code quality, testing, reliability, and mentorship across the tooling stack.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on tooling, data platforms, or full-stack web development, with senior-level ownership of systems or products used by others.
• Strong SQL skills, including data pipeline and storage schema design, data quality, schema evolution, and SQL databases such as Postgres.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, data pipelines, integrations, and internal tools.
• Experience building web applications or customer-facing tools with modern frameworks such as Vue, React, and TypeScript.
• Practical experience shipping or maintaining LLM-enabled systems and related infrastructure, including evaluation pipelines, observability, or integrations; understanding of non-determinism and cost, latency, quality, and reliability tradeoffs.
• Experience with data and analytics tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, Looker, or similar business intelligence platforms.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical findings to engineers, product managers, customers, and leadership.
• Customer-first mindset, project management skills, stakeholder collaboration, autonomy, comfort with ambiguity, and pragmatic build-versus-buy and architectural decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Availability to work from the San Francisco or Boston flex offices on a hybrid basis 2–3 times per week.
• Experience with LangChain, Pydantic AI, LLM evaluation frameworks, Langfuse, DataDog, or Grafana.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Docker Swarm, Terraform, AWS, common web architectures, APIs, and Vue or React front-end development.
• Experience with project management and stakeholder communication.
