Software Engineer II (React/Node)

Location: Twin Cities Area, Minnesota (Hybrid); primarily local travel during the business day, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain software using modern languages, platforms, methodologies, and architectures.
• Write well-designed and testable application code, develop technical documentation, specifications, flowcharts, and layouts, and determine operational feasibility.
• Develop technical proposals, plan multi-stage projects, establish delivery timelines, and lead self-directed team projects through completion.
• Review team members’ work, communicate project status to stakeholders, and contribute to onboarding and ongoing development of junior engineers.
• Improve engineering processes, software functionality, and system capabilities while contributing to an innovative and inclusive team environment.

Requirements

• Four or more years of related professional experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in an Agile-based environment and ability to work on multiple assignments while meeting objectives and deadlines.
• Experience in a SOC 2 Type II certified environment.
• Experience working with JIRA and Confluence.
• Understanding of and discipline to follow rigorous IT data and systems policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively, document requirements and specifications, prioritize initiatives based on internal and client business needs, and produce strong technical writing.
• Ability to collaborate, contribute to process improvement, and uphold Collaborative, Objective, Responsive, and Earnest values.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Modern JavaScript and TypeScript development, especially in the React and Node ecosystem.
• Database design and optimization with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Cloud platform experience, particularly AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code, observability and monitoring, API design, and microservices experience.
