Product Design Mechanical Engineer (IoT)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; full-time, in-person role based in the Taipei office. Frequent visits to vendors throughout Taiwan and Southeast Asia are required.

Develops privacy-sensitive, AI-powered enterprise security and workplace products, including cameras, access control systems, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management solutions.

What you will do

• Drive new enterprise hardware products from proof of concept through prototype development, validation builds, and mass production.
• Generate mechanical solutions for cameras, mounting, sealing, environmental resistance, thermal management, tamper resistance, and outdoor products rated IP66/67 and IK08/10.
• Integrate PCBAs, sensors, interconnects, and other electro-mechanical elements in collaboration with Electrical Engineering.
• Explore, prototype, test, and finalize product form and CMF with Industrial Design.
• Work with vendors on DFM/DFA, tooling release and validation, prototype and production parts, and manufacturing bring-up.
• Develop and execute mechanical reliability test plans and DoEs; support failure analysis, root-cause analysis, factory troubleshooting, assembly-line bring-up, and validation through EVT, DVT, and PVT.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing and manufacturing enterprise or consumer electronic products.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Mandarin communication skills.
• Mastery of 3D CAD software.
• Hands-on experience building and testing hardware.
• Experience working with part vendors on DFM, tooling bring-up, and validation.
• Ability to frequently visit vendors throughout Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
• Passion for designing aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use hardware.
• Independent authorization to work in Taiwan is required.
