Android Software Engineer (Android Framework)

Location: In-office in Corvallis, Oregon, United States, or Christchurch, New Zealand; 10% travel required.

Salary: $115,600–$158,900 annually; bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Design and develop Android Framework components, middleware, custom applications, and device functionality.
• Integrate new functionality and services into OS platform updates and quarterly releases.
• Develop Mobile Device Management and diagnostic telemetry capabilities that improve device reliability and productivity.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists on threat analysis and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate the GMS certification process with third-party test laboratories.
• Troubleshoot complex system errors and implement remedial actions in a continuous integration environment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Android application development or embedded Linux GUI environments.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of embedded system software and operating system architectures.
• Experience managing software components in a Git- or Repo-based continuous integration environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems in a fast-paced team.

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications for Mobile Device Management products or diagnostic telemetry.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar bug-tracking systems.
• Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces and multi-radio connectivity.
