Staff Software Engineer, Mobile (Android)

Location: Glendale, CA, United States; full-time onsite role.

Salary: $198,200–$297,400 USD in Zone 1 (CA, CT, DC, MD, MA, NJ, NY, VA, WA); $185,300–$277,900 USD in Zone 2 (all other US locations). International compensation varies by location. Additional compensation includes an annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Guide the technical implementation of next-generation native Android mobile applications.
• Develop product differentiators by leveraging the native capabilities of customers’ mobile devices.
• Drive technology choices for mobile applications.
• Architect and design mobile applications and frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with other people and help solve complex technical problems.
• Use AI and LLM tools to improve workflows, development, reviews, and app performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in mobile application development and 8+ years of experience with Android framework development.
• Expert-level programming experience in Kotlin; Java is not accepted.
• Experience architecting and designing mobile applications or frameworks.
• Regular experience working with GraphQL.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD.
• Hands-on technical leadership experience, including leading teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience architecting and designing large-scale, scalable systems.
• Experience developing creative solutions to difficult problems.
• Deep knowledge of KMM.
• Strong understanding of Jetpack Compose.
• Regular use of GitHub Copilot, Google Gemini, Cursor, or Windsurf.
• Understanding of MVI architecture.
• Experience with BitRise or GitHub Actions.
• Experience writing end-to-end automation tests.
