Software Engineer II - Backend (C#/.NET)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with an expectation of working from the Toronto office two days per week.

Compensation: 110,000–130,000 CAD, including commission and/or bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and implement backend features and services for inventory, availability, and reservation flows.
• Work across the full software lifecycle, including technical design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Debug production issues using logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards.
• Improve system reliability, correctness, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and make technical tradeoffs.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, design documentation, and the evolution of a complex distributed backend platform.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET is required.
• Ability to work on complex backend systems where reliability and correctness are critical.
• Ability to contribute across the entire software lifecycle, from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
• Experience or capability with the team’s technology environment, including Kubernetes, Helm, TeamCity CI/CD, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, and GitHub.
