Software Engineering, Backend (All Teams)

Location: Hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with some in-office time expected.

Base salary: CAD 120,000–150,000 per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and technology stacks for product areas.
• Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems.
• Help transition a monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture.
• Solve complex technical problems in logistics infrastructure and collaborate cross-functionally on product and platform decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of industry experience working with backend technology stacks.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Understanding of modern web technologies and HTTP/REST architecture.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, or RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor across design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and release activities.
