Senior Software Engineering, Backend (All Teams)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid with some in-office time expected

What you will do

• Develop, release, and operate large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and the technology stack for a product area.
• Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems.
• Help transition a monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, evaluate technical trade-offs, and own projects end-to-end.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while solving complex logistics technology problems.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or an equivalent background.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Professional experience with backend technology stacks and modern web architecture, including HTTP and REST.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, and RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and release.
