HR Business Partner (AI/SaaS)

Location: Remote, Austin; early UK-hours overlap required, with occasional UK travel.

Salary: $133,000–$180,000 annually for Austin, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with R&D leaders on performance, organizational design, employee relations, people strategy, and early risk identification.
• Advise on international employee relations and organizational changes under local law, escalating high-risk matters such as redundancies and terminations to outside counsel.
• Build UK employment infrastructure with Legal and Finance, including contracts, probation and notice terms, right-to-work processes, statutory leave, policies, and benefits.
• Manage Deel and Rippling EOR relationships and plan transitions from EOR to direct employment in key markets.
• Track UK and EOR-country regulatory changes, own performance and compensation cycles, promotions, and leveling, and maintain accurate international employee data for audits and reporting.
• Create repeatable country playbooks for new markets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HRBP experience, including employee relations, with meaningful UK and/or international exposure.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and familiarity with EOR models and their limitations.
• Hands-on experience with Rippling and/or Deel.
• Ability to work independently across time zones with early UK-hours overlap and occasional UK travel.
• Strong attention to detail for contracts and compensation, combined with sound judgment about when to escalate.
• Highly collaborative approach when working with US- and London-based colleagues.

Nice to have

• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent hands-on HR experience.
• Experience supporting a company through a legal entity launch.
• Exposure to APAC or EMEA employment law beyond the UK.
• Experience partnering with engineering or R&D teams in a high-growth SaaS company.
