People Business Partner - Tech (SaaS)

Location: Remote within Canada, specifically Toronto or Vancouver; candidates must keep a home base in the country of hire.

Salary: CA$158,000–CA$180,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Advise Engineering and Product leaders through growth, ambiguity, organizational change, and team development.
• Lead organizational design, talent planning, and collaboration initiatives across technical teams.
• Own performance management cycles, including feedback, promotions, role changes, and compensation discussions.
• Develop career paths and consistent leveling for Engineering and Product roles.
• Use People data to guide decisions on team effectiveness, engagement, and retention.
• Coach managers through employee relations matters, performance concerns, difficult conversations, conflicts, and learning initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in People roles, including 4+ years as a People Business Partner.
• Experience supporting Engineering and Product leaders in scale-up or high-growth SaaS environments.
• Understanding of technical team structures, Engineering and Product collaboration, career paths, and leveling.
• Familiarity with international employment laws and compliance.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams across cultures and time zones.
• Hands-on experience with organizational design, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and manager coaching.
