Category Manager (Manufacturing Procurement)

Location: Onsite in Pinetops, North Carolina, United States, at 3022 NC-43. Candidates must already have US work authorization permitting employment with hirify.global.

hirify.global's Electrification Distribution Solutions Division develops products and connected solutions for efficient, reliable distribution, protection, and control of electric power for utilities, industry, and infrastructure.

What you will do

• Develop, plan, and implement procurement strategies for assigned categories, optimizing cost, quality, delivery, and supplier reliability.
• Coordinate procurement strategy execution, planning, activity tracking, cost budgets, emerging-country spending, and savings forecasts.
• Manage supplier quality, commercial risk, financial exposure, standard agreements, purchase terms, and service-level agreements.
• Recommend frame agreements and establish local standard agreements with major suppliers.
• Design and implement cost-out programs and processes to achieve financial targets.
• Support cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in health, safety, environment, and integrity performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong category strategy development skills, including spend analysis, market assessment, and supplier segmentation.
• Supplier management and negotiation expertise, including cost savings, contract optimization, and risk mitigation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers, including direct materials, MRO, or CAPEX categories.
• Contract management experience, including drafting, reviewing, and enforcing commercial terms and service-level agreements.
• Data-driven decision-making skills with proficiency in spend analytics, KPIs, and procurement systems such as ERP, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Ariba.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with operations, engineering, quality, finance, and suppliers.
• Knowledge of local and regional supplier markets, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal teams and drive local category initiatives.
• Existing US work authorization permitting employment with hirify.global.
