IT Category Manager (IT Procurement)

Location: Hybrid role based in Rosemead, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California. The role requires reporting to an SCE facility for a set number of days, with remote work available on the remaining days. Extended work at an alternate location may be required.

Salary: $129,200–$193,700 per year

What you will do

• Lead sourcing, procurement, and contracting activities for technology, systems, software, IT hardware, and engineered products.
• Review and negotiate company-wide commercial agreements and identify strategies that reduce total cost and risk.
• Develop category management strategies, processes, and targets for assigned spend categories.
• Use financial, logistical, commercial, risk, and cost analyses to support purchasing decisions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to identify purchasing opportunities and improve procurement processes.
• Manage supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with corporate procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management.
• Experience negotiating contracts and/or managing the Request for Proposal process.
• Experience purchasing IT hardware, software, and services.
• Experience partnering with Information Security, Privacy, Legal, and IT stakeholders on cybersecurity, data protection, and third-party risk requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations, contractual documentation, facilitation, and negotiations.
• Working knowledge of technology commercial and licensing models, including subscription, usage-based, and enterprise agreements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with Ariba and SAP.
• CPM, CPSM, CPCM, or PMP certification.
• Ability to present recommendations to all organizational levels.
