Full Stack Senior Software Developer (Java)

Location: Montreal, Canada; hybrid schedule with work from home up to 2 days per week depending on team needs. A Flex Location benefit allows up to 30 days per year working from another location worldwide.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and support applications and systems for the Telecom Configuration system and other products.
• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable REST and SOAP APIs for product integration.
• Write and deliver complex code and modules, debug existing solutions, and support deployments into production with a DevOps mindset.
• Guide less experienced employees and contractors, establish coding practices and technical processes, and oversee defect assignment.
• Gather and analyze requirements, review functional and technical requirements, and participate in design discussions with stakeholders.
• Estimate technical work and document test cases for current and future QA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 10–12 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Bilingual English and French communication skills.
• Professional experience with J2EE/Java 8 through Jakarta EE/Java 21.
• Experience with Spring Core, Spring JDBC, EJB, JDBC, JMS, Apache POI, Java ORM, Hibernate, and JPA.
• Experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP services and Kafka events.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
• Experience with web and application servers such as WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation generation; knowledge of Kubernetes and Azure Cloud hosting.

Nice to have

• Professional programming certification in a mainstream programming language.
• Previous experience in the telecommunications domain.
• Awareness of microservice architecture and possible refactoring experience.
