Senior Fullstack Software Developer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid role with an expectation to work from the Toronto office 3 days per week.

Base pay: CAD 132,000–178,500 per year. The position may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop customer-facing applications from design through implementation, including high-volume customer experiences.
• Design and contribute to the architecture of an AI-powered partner platform supporting QuickBooks, Mailchimp, accountants, and PTG.
• Write approximately 70–85% hands-on code across the application stack using Java and JavaScript/React.
• Resolve defects and bugs during QA, pre-production, production, and post-release patching.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and new team members and solving complex programming and design problems.
• Collaborate with product management, QA/QE, product lines, and business units; participate in on-call support for urgent issues.

Requirements

• Experience developing web applications with Java and JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, with hands-on experience with React and JavaScript.
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture processes.
• Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience with Agile Development, Scrum, and/or Extreme Programming methodologies.
• BS/MS in computer science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers.

Nice to have

• Experience developing, maintaining, and scaling large consumer-facing web applications.
• Deep understanding of building highly scalable and highly available systems.
• Hands-on prototyping and research with open-source tools, emerging technologies, and AI.
• Hands-on experience with a range of modern web frameworks.
