Senior Substation Engineering Lead

What you will do

• Lead the full lifecycle of complex substation projects, from conceptual design and feasibility studies through execution and commissioning.
• Direct substation engineering analyses, design reviews, technical specifications, and contract-bid evaluations.
• Resolve complex technical challenges involving substation physical and protection/control design, grid stability, safety, quality, and budget objectives.
• Mentor engineering staff, facilitate knowledge transfer, and set technical direction for less-experienced team members.
• Represent engineering teams with contractors, equipment vendors, public agencies, internal departments, and project leadership.
• Support land acquisition, permitting, regulatory compliance, and large-budget infrastructure project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least eight years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and substation design.
• Expertise in substation physical and/or protection/control design and applicable industry codes.
• Experience managing complex, large-budget infrastructure projects and cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical communication skills, including presentations to senior leadership and public agencies.

Nice to have

• Current Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience across the full substation lifecycle, from planning through commissioning.
