Lead Technical Engineer (AI/Cloud)

Location: Hybrid in Fairfax, Virginia, United States, with up to three business days per week onsite and occasional SCIF visits. Travel within and outside the continental United States may be required.

Salary: $175,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect, configure, and manage secure environments across DoD networks, commercial cloud platforms, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Support application development, maintenance, and integration across classified and unclassified cloud environments.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with customers, program managers, mission partners, and government representatives.
• Manage security compliance, patching, access controls, vulnerability management, continuous monitoring, and Assessment and Authorization activities.
• Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot network operating systems, servers, hardware, and security controls.
• Contribute to solution strategy, innovation, new business capture, and proposal development.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related STEM discipline.
• Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+, plus AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Solutions Architect–Associate certifications.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including cloud solution delivery, technical team leadership, and customer-facing cloud projects.
• Experience with Linux and Microsoft servers, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, GitLab, infrastructure as code, scripting, networking, PKI, data engineering, and cloud security.

Nice to have

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance and experience in SCIF, classified cloud, or classified on-premises environments.
• AWS professional or specialty certifications, ITIL v4 Foundations, and experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of DoD STIGs, IP networking, continuous integration and delivery, network management, and data security.
• Experience with generative AI and LLM platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Claude.
