Associate General Counsel - Product - Partnerships

Location: Fully remote within the United States, or onsite/hybrid from one of hirify.global's U.S. offices. Travel up to 10%.

Base salary: $160,000–$200,000 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Advise product and research teams with practical legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships, licensing, joint development, supply, and manufacturing transactions.
• Build the playbooks, processes, and infrastructure for a scalable product legal function.
• Collaborate with product, research, engineering, finance, privacy, compliance, trade, and outside counsel stakeholders.
• Translate complex legal concepts for non-lawyers and connect product, engineering, and business strategy to legal advice.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar, or eligibility for in-house/registered counsel status in the state of employment.
• 8+ years of relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Substantial experience advising on strategic partnerships for the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of technology products in the United States and abroad.
• Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and executing complex technology transactions that directly affect business or product strategy.
• Versatility across product and transactional matters, with willingness to build skills outside core practice areas.
• Judgment and confidence when addressing novel legal questions and ambiguous legal frameworks in unprecedented technology areas.
• Ability to improve team speed and efficiency, including leveraging existing AI tools and helping build superior tools.
• U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residence, or lawful admission to the United States as a refugee or asylee is required due to export control restrictions for this non-technical role.

• In-house legal experience with a mature U.S. technology company.
• Experience with hardware products or hardware-focused businesses.
• Experience supporting post-acquisition integration of products, technologies, or businesses.
• Proficiency in multiple languages.
