Strategic Transactions & Partnerships Counsel (AI)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $355,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Structure and negotiate complex commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, large-scale compute procurement, and licensing arrangements.
• Serve as the legal architect for novel, first-of-their-kind deals without established templates.
• Partner with executive stakeholders to align deal strategy with business objectives.
• Advise on the commercial and strategic implications of the evolving AI landscape.
• Build transactional infrastructure and playbooks for a scaling legal function.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant experience in complex commercial transactions, ideally across law firm and in-house environments.
• JD degree and membership in at least one US state bar.
• Independent, end-to-end experience leading sophisticated procurement, partnership, and licensing deals.
• Deep familiarity with the AI ecosystem and its emerging legal questions.
• Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and confidence navigating ambiguity.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve legal workflows and efficiency.
