Lead Software Engineer, Platform Engineering (Fullstack)

Location: Remote within the Continental United States; candidates must be able to work and reside in the continental U.S.

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 starting salary

What you will do

• Architect, develop, maintain, and operate internal platforms, services, tooling, and shared developer services supporting CI/CD, automation, and software delivery.
• Drive the development platform lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, platform automation, productivity tooling, and internal roadmaps.
• Improve developer velocity, reliability, quality, operational efficiency, workflows, accessibility, documentation, and platform usability.
• Partner with product, platform, and application engineering teams and translate organizational goals into actionable technical initiatives.
• Mentor and coach engineers, facilitate technical deep dives, design reviews, and training on architecture, coding standards, DevOps, and UI/UX.
• Own production reliability and evolution through incident response, troubleshooting, performance and capacity improvements, security, recovery, alerting, cost management, and technical-debt reduction.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer delivering large-scale, distributed web applications.
• Ability to act as a strategic product thinker and community builder, collaborate in Agile cross-functional distributed or self-directed teams, and communicate technical concepts, designs, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to design and develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience developing user-facing or internal web applications with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue, informed by UI/UX and accessibility best practices.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, automation, and software delivery pipelines, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Practical experience contributing to or operating internal developer platforms, enablement tooling, or shared services.
• Strong experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and EKS, and deploying applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems, plus the ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across the stack.
