IT Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Manage identity and access through an identity provider such as Okta or Entra ID, including SSO and SCIM integrations.
• Lead regional onboarding and offboarding, ensuring equipment configuration and access readiness from the first day.
• Administer Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, including users, groups, licenses, shared drives, admin roles, and email security.
• Manage device fleets with Jamf, Iru, or Intune, including enrollment, configuration, application deployment, patching, encryption, and compliance.
• Handle IT tickets and access requests against SLAs using approvals and least-privilege practices.
• Automate repetitive IT work, troubleshoot API, webhook, and DNS issues, and create runbooks and communications for changes and outages.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IT administration or IT engineering. Experience in a fast-growing technology company is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with at least one identity provider, such as Okta or Google Auth, one MDM platform, and one ticketing tool.
• Working knowledge of at least one MDM platform—Jamf, Iru, or Intune—including Apple ADE or Windows Autopilot.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and DNS records, including A, CNAME, MX, and TXT records.
• Ability to read and safely modify scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with ticket queues and SLAs, strong communication with non-technical users, and clear written documentation.
